All of the comedy industry insiders will be staying at the host venue of The Main Event, which means you will have many chances to hang out with or run into them in the lobby, at the restaurants, in the casino or at the bar. It is highly recommended that you stay at the official hotel for the festival in order to increase your on-site networking opportunities. We also coordinate low-pressure networking events throughout the week – in the past we have run poker tournaments, karaoke nights and bowling events.
Many industry insiders also present or attend the daytime seminars, so you have lots of chances to meet the people that have the ability to book you at their venue. The formal Meet & Greet is scheduled on Thursday, and all industry who are a part of The World Series of Comedy will be invited to attend. Industry participants not only include club managers, bookers and owners, but also talent managers, agents, writers, producers and other comedy professionals (voice-over artists, podcasters, etc) that can help you maximize the money you can generate through comedy.
The goal of the festival is to do everything we can to get as many people that can help you get work at the formal Meet & Greet on Thursday. This will be set up like a trade show, and you will have time to walk around the room and meet the industry insiders to give them your promo material. We make sure your promotional materials are boxed up and shipped to them, so that when they get back to work, it will be there waiting for them as a reminder to book you!
