INCREASE YOUR OVERALL SCORE
We watch the video you submitted and you get a score. That is the score we will use for picking you for The Main Event and any Live Satellites you picked when you registered. If you would like a better score to help your chances of being picked for The Main Event then you should do a Live Satellite.
Just for going to the Live Satellite you could get up to another 3 points added to your score. Here is how that works. If you get picked for the WIldcard, you get .5 point added to your score. If you get picked for the second round, you get 1 point added to your score. If you finish 1st or 2nd in the second round, you will get another point added to your score. If you end up being one of the top 3, you will get another point added to your score. A max of 6 points can be added to your overall score.
SCORE BREAKDOWN
16 Wildcard Comics get .5 point added to their video score
3 Wildcard winners get another .5 point added to their video score for a total of 1 point
24 Round 2 Comics get 1 point added to their video score
6 Round 2 winners get another point added to their video score for a total of 2 points
3 Final winners get another point added to their video score for a total of 3 points
This may not seem like a lot, but the scoring to get picked for The Main Event is always very close and many times a half of a point could make the difference between you not getting picked or getting to perform at The Main Event. There may be 30 or 40 comics with the same score as you from there video submission. Because you did a Satellite and maybe you only made it into the Wildcard but you now have that half of a point more then them so you would be above the 30 or 40 comics who had the same score.
YOU COULD GET WORK
Just by being seen at the Live Satellite you could end up getting work from the club. If you win the Live Satellite you get a week of work as part of the prize for 1st place. If you have been trying to get into a club for work this is a great way to be seen.
